Where a site lives #

A draft is a WordPress site running in your browser, saved in this browser's storage. It is there after a refresh or a normal close, and it stays private until you share or publish it. It is not a cloud backup: clearing the browser's site data removes it. The top bar shows Saving, Saved in browser or Save failed, and the browser asks before you close a tab with unsaved changes.

A published site lives on InstaWP; your browser still keeps the draft it was published from.

The Sites screen #

InstaWP Studio's home address lists every site of this browser (or of your account once signed in), each with a picture of its homepage and a ⋯ menu, with New site, Import a site and Sign in above. A storage line shows how much your sites take and offers Free up for leftovers no site claims. The footer links What's new, Demos and these docs.

Site details in the ⋯ menu shows the site's status, the brief it was built from, its sessions, pages and size, lets you rename it, opens WordPress admin, and holds reset and delete. For a published site it adds the plan, domain, assistants and Publish again.

Sessions #

Each site keeps its chats as sessions. The chat header switches between them or starts a New session; the session menu offers Copy session link, which opens that site and its history in a browser that holds the site. Reopening a site resumes its latest session.

Several tabs #

Different sites can be open in different tabs. A site that is already open in another tab says so, with Use it here and Back to sites; Use it here moves the site over once the other tab's work finishes. Tabs in the same browser share the sites and their credits; a private window has sites of its own.

Sign in to see your sites everywhere #

Sign in on the Sites screen, New site or the builder bar connects the browser to your InstaWP account. Your sites are then listed under the account, so every browser you sign in on shows the same list.

  • A draft's WordPress still lives only in the browser that built it; elsewhere its card reads On another device, with its picture.
  • Sign out in the account menu gives this browser a fresh, empty list; signing in again brings the sites back.
  • A browser already signed in to another account keeps its sites there.

Signing in is also the first step of publishing and adds free credits.

Reset or delete #

  • Reset this site in the builder's ⋯ menu wipes the draft and starts a new session after confirming. It is for drafts only.
  • Delete in the Sites screen or Site details removes the site, its sessions and its files from this browser and frees the storage. A published site keeps running on InstaWP unless you tick Also delete it from InstaWP.

If the browser forgets its sign-in #

If a browser loses the cookie that identifies it while it still holds sites, a reconnect screen appears. Start fresh continues with an empty list after you confirm, and the old sites are removed from this browser. The alternative is a one-time recovery code from an administrator, which must be used within ten minutes.
